Knowledge Bowl

Knowledge Bowl is the masterly meeting of the minds, a Jeopardy-like competition for kids! Students are expected to answer random questions from all disciplines, and usually compete in teams of four students with differing expertise to meet the challenge. Any and all students are welcome in Knowledge Bowl, but must be knowledgeable and quick on the draw. Competitions consist of both a written round and two oral rounds.

We have two sections of Knowledge Bowl contestants here at DMS - a 6th grade crew and a 7/8 crew who meet with Mr. Cummings separately. Both groups have competitions twice a year with other Delta County School contestants their age, one in the fall at Hotchkiss K-8 in early November and one in the spring at Delta Middle School in early April.

Because of the demanding extracurricular schedule of many students, practice dates vary, but are usually held during lunch recess and occasionally after school from 3:40 - 4:40. Practice for Fall competitions were held the month of October, and practice for spring competition will be held during the month of February.

Talk to Mr. Cummings if you'd like to join and stay tuned to daily announcements for more information!
